Complexo do Alemão is one of the most violent favelas in Rio de Janeiro. From the neighborhood, you have a view of the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer—but from its back. Residents constantly have to cope with either the violence of the drug gangs or the raids by the special police units, which are equally violent and disrespectful of human life. At the same time, there is also a powerful sense of community and resilience in the favela.
In this interactive VR experience, users will meet Raull Santiago, Tuany Nascimento and Adenise Morais, locals who, despite the struggles, show power, resistance and hope.
